Welcome to Attraction Checklist.

Let’s shove off for high adventure and bad jokes as we ride Jungle Cruise at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.

The Walt Disney World Website describes this attraction saying: Chart a course for high adventure on a scenic and comedic boat tour of exotic rivers across Asia, Africa and South America.

There are no height requirements for this attraction.

Before we see the backside of water, here are five fast facts about the Jungle Cruise at Walt Disney WOrld’s Magic Kingdom..

1. Jungle Cruise is a Magic Kingdom opening day attraction, opening with the park on October 1, 1971.

2. The dense foliage for the attraction was selected by landscape architect, Bill Evans. His job was to find plants that had the appropriate look and feel of equatorial jungle plants yet be able to stand up to Florida’s hot summers and cooler winters.

3. Near the Hippo Pool, guests can spot the back half of an airplane that seemingly crashed in the jungle. This is the other half of the airplane that was featured in the Casablanca scene in The Great Movie Ride that we covered way back on Attraction Checklist episode 20.

4. Walt Disney World’s Jungle Cruise has a fleet of 15 boats, with a maximum 10 in operation at any time.

5. In 2021, Disney announced major changes to Jungle Cruise to remove longstanding objectionable content. It should be noted that the audio for this episode was recorded before those changes were made.
